From late June until early August, that is the cold season (winter) in Zambia. During the nights the temperatures drop down into the mid-low 40’s. During the day it can warm up to the 70’s, but in the coldest weeks its normal to experience mid 50’s to 60’s for your “high” temperatures.
For people who are use to temperatures much more comparable to living in Miami or Houston, this weather creates a huge challenge.
WellSpring was blessed to purchase additional shoes, clothes, blankets (for each girl), and new electric kettles which we use to quickly heat water for bathing. A warm bath is a “must” this time of year and our girls typically bathe 2x’s per day – it’s a lot of bathing.
The girls LOVE having their new blankets and being able to have their “own” is a dream come true for each of them.
Campus Crusade also blessed our girls with additional bible study and spiritual growth materials our team is using.
