Over the weekend the girls decided to utilize an ever increasing pile of dirt that is being dug up as the foundation of a new wall which surrounds our yard is being built.
As the earth dries, it can be crushed into a powder and mixed with water to make sculpting clay. A process many Zambian children are familiar with.
Our girls decided to make themselves some toy dolls, pots, and vases.
Make sure you don’t miss this video as the girls have been practicing their English to be able to give updates.
You can see from the photos and videos that all the girls were involved in the process. Collecting the earth, crushing it by hand with stones, and mixing the fresh powder with water to form the “dough”.
The girls have truly enjoyed this process and the resulting pieces are true works of art.
