We are accepting Annie into WellSpring because the mother is unable to provide for the children. The girls are very vulnerable as the mother is just doing odd jobs day by day. Many days they are unable to eat and the living situation is not safe for the girls.

A Note From Georgina…

My name is Georgina I am 46 years and I stay in Kawama East. I am uneducated and have no job. I only struggle to find odd jobs day by day such as washing clothes for people in urban compounds. We survive on making k40 ($2.00) or less a day. In total I I have 6 children.
1. Smart (23years)
2. Fighton (18 years)
3. Marvelous (17years)
4. Wisdom (16years)
5. Annie (13years)
6. Micah (9 years)

The father, Charles used to work for Olympic milling company and after retiring he chose to divorce me and abandoned the family. He has since remarried another woman.

Among the 6 children only 1 ( Marvellous) is going to school, the rest are at home. Due to our financial challenges, I am only keeping my 2 youngest children, Annie and Micah.

Most of the others are staying with wellwishers in the communities within Mufulira.

The father never cares about the children’s education, and has never supported or visited us for seven years now. Life for me and the children is hard. We struggle to have a meal or for me to help the children go to school. No one has ever completed education in our family, the oldest stopped schooling in grade 8.

I am asking for your help to enroll my children Annie and Micah into the WellSpring so that they can be educated. I want them to have a better life and help each other in the future.
