The New 2025 School Year Begins!

In Zambia, the education system is divided into three terms per year. The academic calendar is structured to encourage continuous learning and growth throughout the school year.

On January 13th, all schools in Zambia reopened after a one-month holiday in December for the Christmas season and this starts the new 2025 school year. This is an exciting time for students as they reunite with friends and teachers after the break. At the beginning of each year, students advance to the next grade based on their academic performance, and those who do not perform well often repeat a grade.

Maintaining a strong academic record is essential for students, as it influences their future educational opportunities. This year, all the girls at Wellspring moved a grade forward due to their excellent performance in class and on the school’s exams. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and the dedication they show in their studies.

Most of our girls attend Twashuka Primary School, and we have 7 of them enrolled there, all performing exceptionally well. Their success serves as an inspiration to others in the house, fostering a competitive yet supportive atmosphere. We have children like Idah in our house who have been advanced grades due to her academic excellence. Through hard work and perseverance, she has demonstrated that challenges can be overcome. The girls love their school because it is within walking distance from the house, and they adore their teachers and friends. These friendships and bonds created in school help build their confidence and social skills.

Please continue to pray for the girls as they embark on this new school year. Thank you for your continued support and encouragement as they pursue their dreams.. Together, we can make a lasting impact on their lives.
