A Sweet 16 to Remember: Celebrating Idah

On May 20th, Idah turned 16 — a milestone birthday and a moment of joy for a girl who has come so far!

This year, her celebration at WellSpring was a little different. For the first time, the girls themselves made her birthday cake — and not just any cake, but a beautifully decorated one that looked like it came straight from a bakery. Thanks to a donated oven, baking supplies, and decorating tools, the girls have been teaching themselves how to bake and decorate by watching YouTube videos and practicing together. It’s become a joy they share — creating something special with their own hands for one another.

Instead of buying a store-made cake, the funds were lovingly redirected toward something just for Idah: a brand-new “track suit” — soft sweatpants and a pink hoodie — and a new pair of slides. She was thrilled, glowing with happiness as she opened her gifts.

This sweet sixteen was more than a party — it was a symbol of growth, friendship, and new beginnings. The girls aren’t just receiving care; they’re learning, creating, and lifting each other up. They’re becoming a family.

Thank you to every donor and friend who makes moments like this possible. Because of your kindness, Idah’s sweet sixteen was filled with love, laughter, and the beautiful truth that she is deeply valued.
