This week the team took time to examine the girl’s growth and development. The girls have been living under our care for nearly a year. Their day-to-day lives look significantly different now than from the lives they were coming from. They are attending school, and church, eating three meals per day, accessing medical care, and clean water, warm beds, and a loving Christ-led leadership team pushing them to be all Christ has called them to be.

Over the weekend the girls decided to utilize an ever increasing pile of dirt that is being dug up as the foundation of a new wall which surrounds our yard is being built.

Last week, with the help of our ministry partner Campus Crusade for Christ out of Lusaka, we were able to fulfill a promise of bringing a life changing wheel chair to Shila’s family. We say “family” because the wheelchair will be able to help her grandfather and her sister – both suffer from disabilities that don’t allow them to walk.

Computer classes have started at WellSpring. Every Saturday morning the girls meet for a 2 hour instructional lab on basic computer skills.

They are currently being taught the basic components, access skills, and typing. Each week the skills will be layered until the children are able to perform critical skills such as creating documents, spreadsheets, and researching academic topics.

The WellSpring family was able to enjoy a special Saturday during Ward’s visit. The family loaded up the bus and took a hour and half drive towards Chingola (the heart of the Zamian copperbelt) to visit Moporro Game Park.

Everyday WellSpring is blessed by some amazing volunteers. Women that serve simply because they have a heart and passion for the work God is doing in the lives of the WellSpring children.

The children were excited to receive the gifts and supplies provided by your generous purchases. The children received under wear, school pencils and erasers, both the boys and girls were glad to have fellowship and receive the gifts.

Micah, Faith, and Aaron are part of a children’s club through the church called “Little Helpers”. The club meets week to week, and the children are taught bible stories, bible verses, songs, and about how Christ calls us to serve others.

We first introduced you to Jolima and her mother Elizabeth, late last year. Elizabeth is a single mother, widowed many years ago. She is in poor health due to HIV which her late husband infected her with. HIV claimed her husband, and 4 other children.

This past Saturday, July 5th, 2023, the WellSpring team invited parents to the second update of the 2023 year. This is a special day when the parents and family can come and visit with the children, and see how the children are doing physically, spiritually, and academically.
