Today, our WellSpring family is celebrating a very special young lady — Mary Kaunda, who turned 15!
The house was full of laughter and joy as the girls gathered to sing, share cake, and celebrate Mary’s life. Her smile could light up any room, and today it shone even brighter as everyone joined in to honor her.
Mary came to WellSpring in January 2023. Before joining our family, she lived with her elderly grandparents in an overcrowded home of seventeen relatives after losing one of her parents. Life was difficult, and education seemed out of reach. But thanks to the love and generosity of friends like you, Mary now has a safe place to call home, attends school, and is thriving in both learning and faith.
She’s currently in Grade 8 at Twashuka Primary School and loves reading and writing — especially in her favorite subjects, English and Local Language. More than that, she’s known for her gentle spirit, her care for the younger girls, and her steady joy that reminds everyone around her of God’s faithfulness.
As Mary enters another year of growth and discovery, we thank God for what He’s doing in her life — and for the donors who make it possible for her to dream, learn, and celebrate moments like this.
