Blessings is a 9 year old that has been kept by her widowed mother, age 48. She also was staying with her cousin Catherine. Blessings has been accepted into WellSpring as her mother struggles to support her in both feeding and the ability to take her to school. Her father died when she was very young.
Blessing’s father passed away when she was a baby and her mother is now 48 years old. Her mother struggles to provide for her and her cousin who she also was keeping. Most days they struggled to even have a single meal.
Blessing’s aunt is an alcoholic and a prostitute herself around the local bars. This is the reason her cousin is kept with her and her grandmother. But the aunt will also come and take the girls from time to time and leave them outside the bars while she is drinking and prostituting. This creates a very dangerous situation for Catherine and her younger cousin Blessings. Both girls have been accepted and brought into WellSpring as the need and danger were significant.
