Cathrine has never known her father, her mother is an alcoholic who lives in and out of local bars. Cathrine has been staying with her grandmother, but her grandmother struggles to survive. She does odd jobs and a bit of gardening. Many days there simply isn’t enough food for her and her younger cousin to even have a single meal.

From time to time her mother will come and take Catherine and even her younger cousin and the girls will be forced to sleep outside the bars where she is prostituting herself. This creates a very dangerous situation for Catherine and her younger cousin Blessings. Both girls have been accepted and brought into WellSpring as the need and danger were significant.
