Today was a day of joy and new beginnings at WellSpring Rescue Village. Our Saturday Bible studies have continued to grow week by week, drawing in more children from the neighborhoods surrounding our home. Many of these children walk miles to join us, arriving with hungry bellies — some having eaten only once the day before.
This morning’s lesson was centered on The Lord’s Prayer from Matthew 6:9–13. Just as the disciples once asked, “Lord, teach us to pray,” the children were learning how to talk to their Heavenly Father. It was beautiful to hear their voices join together in prayer, song, and laughter as they discovered the words Jesus gave us as a guide.
And today, for the very first time, we added another dimension to our Bible study: a meal. After learning, singing, and playing games, the children gathered to share food — simple plates of nourishment that meant so much. Their joy was contagious, their gratitude overflowing.
We couldn’t help but be reminded of the miracle in Matthew 14:13–21, when Jesus fed thousands with just five loaves and two fish. In the same way, God is multiplying what we have through your generosity. With every prayer, every gift, and every word of encouragement, you are helping us feed not only hearts and souls but also hungry bodies.
