Impacting the families of WellSpring Residents

Last week, with the help of our ministry partner Campus Crusade for Christ out of Lusaka, we were able to fulfill a promise of bringing a life changing wheel chair to Shila’s family. We say “family” because the wheelchair will be able to help her grandfather and her sister – both suffer from disabilities that don’t allow them to walk.

This wheel chair in Zambia runs about $1,000 USD – with our current budget, without the help of Campus Crusades, we simply would not have been able to help Shila’s family.

Continue to pray for additional partnerships – current relations we are working with are:

  • Local Grain Mills – We are seeking monthly donations of ground corn, not only to help our children, but to help several widows and single mothers we are looking after.
  • Farming Cooperative – Working in conjunction with a group similar to our USDA we are starting the process of creating a non-profit farm cooperative to help families learn critical farming skills and give them access to government subsidized fertilizers and seed. In many lives those two elements keep families from being able to help feed themselves.
  • Giving Tuesday – in Zambia “Giving Tuesday” is not a day of people giving to non-profits but rather groups giving to people in the community that have needs. We have partnered with a large GT Chapter out of Lusaka and our ministry is helping with the distribution as well as being able to benefit from some of the gifts.
  • Local Religious Organizations – as we have reported in the past, in Mufulira we have found some local churches working together to help with donations of food, shoes, and clothing.

We will continue to work on these partnerships as they broaden our ability to help even more hurting children and families.
