On September 3rd, our WellSpring family came together to celebrate a very special milestone — Martha officially turned 18!
The morning began with a treat that made her day unforgettable: a shopping trip where Martha was able to pick out her very own new clothes. Later, the girls gathered in the kitchen to bake her birthday cake, filling the house with joy and laughter as they prepared to honor one of their oldest sisters. With songs, candles, and celebration, the day marked not only another year of life but Martha’s step into adulthood.
Martha has been part of the WellSpring family since November 2022. She is last born in her family of seven children and came to us because her parents, though hardworking, could not afford to continue her education. At WellSpring, Martha has flourished — she is now in Grade 9 at Buyantanshi Secondary School and enjoys subjects like English, Mathematics, and Religious Education.
But Martha’s growth isn’t only in school. She has become a mentor to the younger girls, who look up to her as an older sister. Her kindness, quiet strength, and determination have made her a role model in the home, embodying the heart of what it means to move from brokenness into purpose.
This milestone is more than just a birthday; it’s a celebration of all that Martha has overcome and the bright future ahead of her. Thank you to everyone whose prayers and generosity make these life-changing moments possible.
