Meet Micha: A Bright and Hopeful Future at Wellspring

My name is Micha Nsonga, and I am 11 years old. I am the youngest in a family of six. Our father left when I was just a baby, and my siblings and I were raised by our mother on her own. Life was not easy, but in 2023, I became a resident of Wellspring Rescue Village in Mufulira, and my life changed for the better.

Here at Wellspring, I have the opportunity to go to school and receive all the supplies I need to learn. I sleep in a comfortable bed and enjoy a variety of good meals every day. My favorite dish is nshima with chicken!

One of the things I love most is singing and dancing for God—both at church and with my sisters here at Wellspring. My best friend is Blessings, and we have so much fun playing together.

At school, my favorite subjects are Mathematics and English. I especially love learning English because I want to improve my speaking and communication skills. Our local language here in the Copperbelt is Bemba, but I enjoy learning new ways to express myself. I also love learning poems and reciting them—it’s something new and exciting for me!

One of my best memories at Wellspring was when we went on an educational tour to Baruba Game Resort. It was my first time seeing a giraffe and other amazing animals that I had only heard about before. It was a day I will never forget!

My favorite Bible verse is John 3:16, because it reminds me of God’s love for me and for everyone.

Thank you for supporting and praying for my education and for all of us here at Wellspring. Because of your kindness, we have a home, an education, and a future full of hope. You are making a difference in our lives, and we are so grateful!
