Reuben Gets a New Uniform and Shoes

Reuben comes from a family of three boys, and he’s the oldest. His mom is a loving single parent who works super hard to support her three kids—Reuben, Innocent, and Haggai—as they finish school. Reuben pitches in by selling avocados, but honestly, it’s barely enough to get by. They mostly just scrape through day by day.

Because his mom can’t afford a new school uniform, Reuben has been going to school for over a year (the last 16 months, to be exact) without one, and let me tell you, he’s faced some teasing from his friends. When we at Wellspring found out, we just had to step in and help him out with a fresh school uniform and some shoes since he’s been wearing plastic sandals all this time. Reuben attends a community school and is super stoked about having a new uniform and shoes as he heads back to school this Monday. His mom is incredibly grateful to Wellspring and thanks God for having us in their lives. She feels like she has a partner in her kids’ education now. A big “Thank YOU” to everyone for making this happen so we can keep supporting kids with school supplies!
