Wellspring GIrls house is a sanctuary for over 10 girls, providing them with a clean, safe environment and access to educational and recreational activities. Our primary objective is to safeguard these girls from early marriages, sexual exploitation, physical abuse, and other forms of maltreatment that they may have encountered prior to their arrival. Ensuring their security and protection is our top priority.
On October 19th, we commenced a wall fence construction project at the girls’ residence. Given our commitment to the welfare of the girls at the rescue village, it is imperative that we enhance the safety of the premises against potential threats from the surrounding community. This project aims to bolster the security of both the children and the organization’s resources. Previously, the Wellspring House was secured with a wire fence, which does not meet the necessary standards for protecting the children.
To facilitate this project, the organization has partnered with our landlord to assist in the completion of the wall fence construction. This initiative was originally slated for completion in October of last year, but due to financial constraints faced by our landlord, we recognized the urgent need to finalize the fence in accordance with the child protection care guidelines established for facilities in Zambia.
This necessary project cost a total of $3,500 and without your generosity and support it simply wouldn’t have been possible. We are on track to finalize the few remaining portions within the next week, just ahead of the rains.
We express our gratitude for your ongoing financial support and the love extended to Wellspring Rescue Village. Your contributions allow us to provide a secure and nurturing home that fosters the healthy development of these children into future leaders.
